Political Cartoon #4

This is no surprise that this cartoon is titled "2009 Predictions" and what's interesting is that I think this politcal cartoon can be interpreted in two ways. One way is that the prediction of 2009 is crazy and that it is not looking good. Or one could say that maybe the prediction is just unpredictable and she is running out because she doesnt know and because the man says "I dont like the look of this" means that he does not like the look of an unknown future. Anyway it is looked at, this a great cartoon because I think it also symbolizes the unifying factor of fear within everybody. Even the craziest of people are afraid. Hey guess what? I am finally up to date! I least I think I am...

Political Cartoon #3

What a perfect way to bring in the New Year...with a hangover! Just kidding...but really this cartoon is titled "New Years Hangover" and despite what you might think is an alcohol hangover is really a "debt hangover." I really like this cartoon because it is so fitting with the times and is creative. Its giving the idea that America is drunk off of debt and the "pain killers" are used to cure the pain of this debt not physical pain. I also like how 2009 is represented by the baby, even though traditional, I think it also symbolizes that with 2009's lack of maturity comes an overwhelming issue that everyone is caught in. Out of most political cartoons this has to be my favorite. Now I don't know what that ax is doing in the picture...

Political Cartoon #2

I love cartoons about the economy because they just make the situation more ridiculous than it already is. So in this cartoon which came out in Decemeber is modeling how the consumers who are shopping for the holidays may help the economy a little bit. Too bad that did not happen. Anyway, I really like how the situation is depicted with the woman's cart catching the economy as of it were an item she is looking for. And saying "I got it" just adds to the idea that consumers were going to save the economy. I think the idea in itself was a little stupid because think about it, if everyone else is involved in this economic let down, than why would shoppers be any different? Maybe in the future...but in no way now! Until the next 5 mins...

Political Cartoon #1

So, finally I update my blog. I was having some issues with the computer and it was just terrible. Anyway, here is my first political cartoon blog after a million years.
So this political cartoon is titled "White Women Can Jump Too" and I just thought it was interesting that they would depict Hilary Clinton this way. I feel like for her of course it would be degrading because it seems as if Obama is helping her gain political status when she obviously had it way before. I guess its just making a play at her selection as the Secretary and that maybe this is Obama helping her back up from her loss back in the summer of '08. However this cartoon may be perceived, I have to admit I do find it a little humorous. Until next time...which will be in like 5 mins.
